Firewall Service Options

Each firewall has different security and support options available:

8x5 Forticare. Offers  8x5 telephone support, hardware replacement in case of hardware failure, firmware upgrades, VPN support and traffic management. Shipment of replacement parts occurs within 3 days of Fortinet receiving the defective unit. This option is not generally recommended by Dominant Systems.
 

24x7 Forticare. Offers  24x7 telephone support, advance hardware replacement in case of hardware failure, firmware upgrades, VPN support and traffic management. Delivery of replacement parts occurs within 1 business day after confirmation of the failure by the Fortinet.

1, 2, or 3 year subscriptions. Save money by purchasing multi-year subscriptions, and support agreements.

Firewall Subscription Options

UTM Subscriptions. Fortinet's UTM (Unified Threat management) subscriptions add security features including Intrusion Prevention, Anti-Virus, Web Filtering (web site blocking), and Anti-spam services
 

Enterprise Subscriptions. Incudes all the features of Fortinet's UTM subscription plus Fortisandbox Cloud, and Security Services for Mobile Devices.
 

Firewall Feature Options
Built-in Wireless Access Point. Some of the smaller firewall models include a built-in wireless access point as well as the standard wireless access point controller. These models can be identified by the Fortiwifi moniker.
 

Built-in POE. Some of the models include Power-over-Ethernet (POE) ports which can be used to connect wireless access points without using separate power cords.

Wireless Access Points

Fortinet offers wireless connectivity which is centrally managed at the firewall.  Simply log into your Fortinet firewall to make configuration changes, check uptime, and get stats on wireless usage.
