I took and failed the 70-087 today. I saw questions on confiquring Index Server on a 95 computer, and questions regarding the cause of ODBC errors. None of these subjects were dealt with in this book, as well other subjects tested on the exam. Thorough study of this book will get you at the pass/fail threshold for the test. You will need real hands on experience, many labs to practice the confiquration utilities, or many hours of reading other sources which I can't recommend right now. I also did not find the Trancenders particularly helpful.
