Product Review
MCSE Fast Track: Internet Information Server 4 is designed to help users who are already familiar with Internet Information Server (IIS) pass the 70-087 Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE) exam quickly. This title provides perhaps the fastest way to prepare for the IIS test while polishing your Web-server skills if you only have limited experience setting up IIS.
Like all of the Fast Track installments, this book follows the structure of the certification exam itself. In the "Planning" section, it discusses how to choose the right security strategy and quickly covers several Microsoft Web-solution technologies. Next there are discussions of configuration, including sections on port settings, and the Metabase. The book covers critical areas such as virtual directories and servers, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) services, newsgroup implementation, and certificate handling. In the "Integration and Interoperability" chapter, the text presents how to connect your Web server to Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) databases and integrate it with the Microsoft Index Server. There are also excellent discussions of application execution, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
The back portion of the book is devoted to review and sample questions as a last-minute preparation for the examination. Although this volume is only 333 pages long, it presents an enormous amount of information in a concise, easy-to-read paperback. --Steven Plain

Customer Reviews & Comments
It is also a good book for revision before taking the exam.It contains enough materials for you to pass the exam. If you have hand-on experience of working on IIS, I think you can simply buy this book for your preparation. In its content, there are many figures to illustrate the steps, so that it can help you to deal with those simulation questions.
