Book Description
A few years ago, Lotus held an internal contest to come up with a 25-word definition for Lotus Domino. No one won! Why is it so difficult to describe in a few words this widely used and accepted product? Perhaps because it has many, many capabilities. It's a lot of things, all integrated together into a wonderful whole. Domino is e-mail, it's workflow, it's groupware, it's a programming tool, it's a database. As a result, definitions of Domino often begin with the words "Domino defies definition."
And now, Lotus Domino is available on IBM's AS/400. Some would call it a marriage made in heaven, and others the inevitable meeting of the minds. But why is this the case? Why are some people calling AS/400 the perfect platform for Domino? This book answers that question, plus many others that those considering implementing this combination will ask. Editor Jelan Heidelberg has brought together an outstanding group of subject matter experts to tell this important story in five sections.
- Domino Novice Corner is specifically designed for readers who are not familiar with Notes and Domino.
- AS/400 Novice Corner explains what AS/400 is and why it's so successful in the new world of collaboration.
- Exploring the Unique Features of Domino for AS/400 goes right to the heart of your decision process.
- Domino Planning Considerations contains roll-up-your-sleeves implementation planning information.
- Domino's Future contains three eye-opening chapters to help you plan as you look ahead.
