Fain and company cover the essentials using Flex 2 and Java together to create each of the possible mechanisms under Flex Data Services. This is NOT a book for beginners so don't expect all of the examples to guide you step by step. They move fast so read carefully! There is a lot of information to cover and they seem to have hit all of the important points in a small amount of space and the book is still hefty! I'm a fan of Yakov Fain's blogs, so I may be a little biased, but the guy knows his stuff forwards and backwards. If you're an old Java pro but new to Flex 2 then this book may be a perfect fit for you.
