About The Author
Gary B. Shelly and Tom J. Cashman, wrote and published their first computer education textbook in 1969. More than twenty million copies of Shelly Cashman textbooks have been sold. Gary, Tom, and a talented group of contributing authors have produced leading textbooks on computer programming, computer concepts, and application software. Thomas J. Cashman received his education at California State University, L.A. He established one of the first business data processing programs in the U.S. at Long Beach City College in California, where he taught and served as department head. In 1969, he began collaborating with now best-selling author, Gary Shelly. Denise M. Woods is an associate professor in the School of Management at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana. Prior to her seven years in academia, she worked in the information technology (IT) industry for twenty years. William J. Dorin is the chair of the Computer and Information Systems department at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana. He has authored or co-authored several textbooks for Course Technology, including JavaScript in the Shelly Cashman series of books.
