Under the Covers Book Reviews
"A YA novel, ADVENTURES OF THE TEEN FURIES is about as true to teen life, in language and in emotional conflict, as any book Ive read--and as a former high school teacher, I have read a great many. The characters are teens, with all that implies: mixed-up, prone to emotion, loyal, creative, wanting to grow up, afraid, and, above all else, lovable. If I had a daughter in the proper age group (eleven or twelve to sixteen or seventeen), I would ask her to read this book--not once but twice because it has some very valid advice cunningly concealed in its lively plot. Good job, Ms. Davidson!"
Highly Recommended!
Science Fiction Romance Newsletter, February 1999
"A well-crafted, captivating character study. I recognized these characters as people I had gone to high school with, or rather, as having the same strengths, flaws, and concerns as real people I had known. The actions, relationships and dialogue all rang true. And most importantly, I cared passionately about the decisions they made. Perhaps it added a level of poignancy not available to the book's young adult audience, but I could see the seeds of the disasters that turned people I'd known from the futures they'd imagined for themselves. It's a wonderfully written work that will transport you back to your teenage years, and give you six new friends to treasure."
Customer Reviews & Comments
Amazingly, it made me feel positive feelings toward my high school past... and I hated high school. Quite a witty novel, funny and realistic in its' portrayal of teenagers. Appropriate for teens, but it doesn't talk down to them. Fun for adults who remember what it was like to be 16, when life was far more complicated than your parents thought it was.
