A vast amount of data is available on the mineral resources of North-East Asia. A large number of institutes, universities and research organizations as well as national geological surveys are utilizing this data for purposes of mineral resources development, planning and management. This publication includes the studies and country papers presented at the Workshop on the Application of Geographic Information Systems for Mineral Resource Assessment in North-East Asia held at Changchun, China in May 1999.
