Designed as a comprehesive overview for users of the standard, or as a first step for engineers seeking a detailed understanding of the standard, What is Fibre Channel? is a great way to easily learn all the basic information. The book discusses the evolution of the Fibre Channel standard to today's implementation, and discusses where the standard may go in the future.

This review is from: What is Fibre Channel? (4th Ed.) (Mass Market Paperback)
Jan Dedek's book is an excellent resource for readers wanting to start learning the basics of Fibre Channel technology. The drawings and diagrams are very clear and to the point. This book does not have the depth of other books in this area, but depth is not its goal. It is an excellent primer written by an expert in the field. I started my own education in this industry by reading this book several years ago.
