This IDC study indicates that the Japan enterprise resource management (ERM) solution market. in 2003 grew by 2.6% from the previous year to reach 767.3 billion Yen. The ERM solution market is expected to increase at an average compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.5% until 2008 and to reach 869.9 billion Yen in value.
IDC Japan's senior market analyst, Hisashi Kajita, says, "There are many cases in which the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is limited to partial operations. Even in such cases, ERP will end up as an expensive OS if discussion is not fully made before implementation as to how to proceed with optimization in the future. Both vendors and users will have to consider implementing ERP based on full consideration of the entire corporate system."
