About The Author
Chris Tarantino is an expert in Adobe® Photoshop® and has worked in the retouching and color correcting field since 1983. He has been described as someone who "breaks" Photoshop to make it work better and is used by Adobe as an Alpha and Beta Tester for Photoshop. In addition to his role as an imaging consultant to digital photography companies, Chris is a high-end retoucher in a boutique retouching studio in New York. Clients in the past have included Victoria's Secret, Polo, Ralph Laurent, Saks 5th Ave, and Glamour magazine. Chris works closely with Beauty and Fashion Photographers helping them make a smooth transition from film to digital. Chris is also the author of Digital Photo Processing (1592001068), a book on color and retouching for beginners.
Ken Tan has been a professional photographer for more than 10 years, focusing on fashion, beauty, and glamour photography. He grew up and is based in Melbourne, Australia, but lived and worked in New York for three years, with working visits to Brazil, Canada, and the UK. His introduction to fashion was somewhat serendipitous, having been introduced to some New York models in the mid-1990s, who offered to test with him. This led to introductions to agents, stylists, and designers, and has allowed Ken to continue to hone his craft and individual photographic style in a strongly collaborative environment. Ken continues to draw inspiration from past masters, while chasing that next, elusive photograph to define his work.
Customer Reviews & Comments This is a goregeous book. There are pages and pages of full page pics of scantilly or seductively clad models. On the other hand the rest of the "technical" info could have fit on about 20 pages -- the rest are pics showing off the author's portfolio and to seduce the --probably-- most male reader. The authors does show some of his camera toys, but says little about setting things up or exposure info etc.
