About The Author
Arshad Khan has taught at the University of California–Berkeley and the University of California–Santa Cruz, where he developed data warehousing courses. He is the author of 10 books, including Data Warehousing 101, Implementing SAP with an ASAP Methodology, SAP BEx Simplified, and SAP Simplified. He lives in San Jose, California.

Khan has his own publishing house, which released this and other of his books. At first, perhaps a little bit iffy. Could this be a vanity press? Yet the books have typically been of good quality. Including this one. Implicitly, the book suggests that SAP's own documentation is lacking. It offers an alternative, with copious screen captures of the BW user interface. Along with several diagrams of how a BW warehouse is laid out. SAP also provides various pre-configured information models, like Business Content, that meet the needs of many customers. Without those customers' programmers (like you, presumably) having to recode all this from scratch. One detail which clutters up the screen captures is the text caption that says these are copyright by SAP. Surely this could have been factored out into the copyright page. Saving the reader from having to glance at this every time. Annoying and unnecessary.
