Recently, I was asked to teach an introduction to computer networking class on short notice. To help prepare, I went back and reread this book. While it is somewhat dated, it still provided me with a quick refresher on the fundamentals of how computers are connected and how they communicate with each other. I was glad that I took the time to read it again and I recommend it for anyone else who needs a quick refresher. The sections that are dated were also of assistance in that they provided some historical perspective on the changes in networking that have taken place in the last fifteen years.
