I recently went through a Security plus class where we were given two books for the class - the ILT CompTIA Sec+ book, and "Security+ Guide to Networking Security Fundamentals" by Mark Ciampa. At first glance, the ILT book seemed to look like a slideshow printed on paper. I didn't give it a chance during class, and relied mostly on the instructor to pass the test. I kick myself now, because after class I started studying a lot harder to actually take the exam, only to find that after actually READING the book, it is full of good information. Not only is it full of good info, but it is laid out in such a way that I've found it to be a very enjoyable read (this coming from someone that despises technical reading...). Out of all the books I have purchased/borrowed, I have enjoyed reading/learned the most from this book. One last thing... Included is a test prep CD, and information to access Certblaster software. Very good product!
