About The Author
Jeremy T. McGrew has been part of computer networking since the fall of 1991; this began his appreciation of the computer-networking environment. The original network that he participated in was an amalgamation of Windows 3.1, Macintosh OS 7, Netware, and UNIX based email services. He continued to work with Internetworking, accumulating awareness of numerous operating systems, including Windows '95, '98, NT, 2000, and ME. Jeremy is a 1996 graduated of Colgate University, currently holding the following qualifications CCDP, CCNP, MCSE, and a MCT. Some comments put forth by his classes:
Howard Hecht (Cave Creek, AZ), CCNP, CCNA is a networking consultant at Calence in Tempe, AZ. He has also worked as a consultant for several Fortune 100 companies providing strategic planning, network design, and many other high-level business strategies. Howard has a BS from Northern Arizona University and an MA from Washington State University and has been an adjunct faculty teaching communication and journalism courses for many years.
Adam Bower is an internetworking consultant with Calence, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona. He has worked as a consultant for several Fortune 100 companies, specializing in web complex development. Before his work with Calence, Adam spent several years working in applications design and development for Andersen Consulting. Adam graduated from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature. He has no idea how he ended up in the networking industry, but he can explain the 7 layers of the OSI model in Spanish upon request. Adam currently holds his CCNA and CCNP certifications and is pursuing other Cisco internetworking certifications.
Damien Bowersock is a consultant for Calence Inc. in Overland Park, Kansas. He has been in the IT industry for 7+ years and has consulted for a multitude of companies. His areas of expertise range from general LAN and WAN design to IP Telephony and Security. Damien is currently certified as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) as well as a CCNP+Security. Additionally he holds and various Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCP+I and MCSE) and is a ActiveVoice certified Unity Engineer. Damien lives happily with his wife Kara and two sons: William and Mark.

With Cisco Certification becoming more in demand every day, you need an edge in obtaining the certification. Coriolis, a known leader in certification study material has put together a testing package that allows you to try before going live. Covering exams 640-503, 504, 505 and 506 the package includes over 400 questions divided up between the 4 exams. While this may seem like a great deal of question in reality it's about 100 per exam and for the money I think you should be given more. Although the questions do cover the exam objectives, it doesn't a long time to go through them. I like the idea that you can do online downloads to obtain more question, but as stated before for the price the data bank should be full. The software was a snap to install and with Windows 98, NT, ME and 2000 there was no problems. I would recommend disabling any virus software to ensure a smooth install. The testing software can be taken in review mode to learn as you go or in either the real mode with no time limits or the simulator mode to give you the feeling of the actual exam. Overall add a few more questions and this is a great learning tool.
