Customer Reviews & Comments I bought this book back in the early 80's and it served to explain and promote the mysterious C programming language. At the time, most languages were all trying to be easy to read and this seemed to be an esoteric and intriguing approach. The style is deliberate and detailed yet it doesn't overwhelm. It begins to promote thinking both from the high level and at the bit level concurrently--a notion contrary to the sensibilities of the time. Though there are more comprehensive books dealing with C and it's pumped up brother C++, this is still viable with its quaint innocent style which sums up a period when it was only necessary to know one language to be a marketable programmer.
