I have not read every page of Kris Layon's new and most timely book on developing iPhone aps but several things impress me at this point. First, the writing is very clear and accessible. The purpose of this book is modest but thoroughly explored and this is reflected in the writing style. He approaches his topic with a genuine desire to share what has worked well for him and what, in turn, could work very well for anyone who has the desire to explore this arena -- for fun, challenge, or maybe even profit. Another aspect of the book that makes it more enjoyable than your average manual is the author's quiet sense of humor. It comes through in many small ways, nothing LOL, more the kind of off-hand, casual kind of remarks that give you insight into this author's personality--and how often do you find THAT in a book of this type? I would highly recommend this book to anyone with the knowledge base and the interest in this kind of tech development work -- it's definitely the only manual you'll need to bring that clever idea for an ap into reality.
